  2.     Hello, and Welcome to the instruction manual of Ups & Downs written by
  3.   Jason Bauer using Aztec C version 3.6.  This game was made during October
  4.   1988.  Now on with the instructions!
  5.  
  6.   There are three types of playes:
  7.  
  8.    1) Human vs Human    : which of course if your playing with 2 players
  9.                           each one takes a turn.
  10.  
  11.    2) Human vs Computer : which is one player game and the human player
  12.                           starts the game, and then the computer follows.
  13.  
  14.    3) Computer vs Human : the computer starts the game by making the first
  15.                           move and then you follow.
  16.  
  17.    The above and the following items are part of the menus of the Up & Down
  18.  
  19.    About     :  tells about me if the docs get lost from the game.
  20.  
  21.    Quit      :  turns off the game.
  22.  
  23.    Speech On :  turns the Amiga voice on
  24.  
  25.    Speech Off:  turns the Amiga voice off
  26.

  28.    The object of the game is to get four of your chips in a row without 
  29.  leting your opponent get his chips in a row first.  The chips can be
  30.  across, down, and diagonally.  After winning the game to restart the game
  31.  with the same options, there is a gadget and the bottom of the board, just
  32.  click on it, or you can change options.

  36.    The Function Key 1  : will take you back to the WorkBench screen.

  38.  Setting the Game up on Disk

  41.   One Drive System:

  43.    1) First Initalize a blank
  44.    2) Copy Up & Down over to it
  45.    3) Install the disk
  46.    4) Next copy the:
  47.         libs(dir)
  48.         devs(dir)
  49.         c(dir)
  50.         s(dir)
  51.                    over to the disk
  52.    5) Now Create a new Startup-sequence to LoadWB
  53.      
  54.      it should look like this

  59.    6)Now Boot up the disk, and click on the icon of the game.

  61.   Two Drive System:
  62.  
  63.     1) Instert WorkBench in Drive 1.
  64.     2) The Up & Down program in Drive 2.
  65.     3) Now click on the icon for the game.
